Trac Lighting
Nascar Tracks: Daytona International Speedway
The Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida is home to some of the most significant NASCAR races there are. It is a 2.5-mile track and can seat 168,000 fans. Other racing associations share the track too so it is not exclusively a NASCAR facility. It is home to the race most Americans know because it has been around for so long: The Daytona 500. NASCAR sponsors this event as the NEXTEL Cup – Daytona 500 – aThe Great American Race.a
In 2008, the 50th Annual NEXTEL Cup Daytona 500 race will be held. The NASCAR Daytona 500 is a 500-mile race that consists of 200 laps. This race will begin the NASCAR season on February 17th. The winner of the Daytona 500 gets awarded the Harley J. Earl Trophy. Harley J. Earl was an automobile designer who served as the second NASCAR commissioner. The Harley J. Earl Trophy will be plated in gold instead of silver for the 2008 race.
The NASCAR Daytona 500 has a unique qualifying procedure. The top 35 teams from the previous year’s competition are automatically qualified to compete in the current Daytona 500 race at the Daytona International Speedway. There are 150-mile qualifying races held one week before the big race and the two top drivers from the qualifications will be added to the 35. Other top qualifiers will fill the remaining spots to 43 and previous NASCAR champions without a spot will be given priority.

QUESTION:
How to turn off the VSC Trac and Trac lights?
2004 Toyota 4runner v6. The VSC Trac,Trac off and the check engine light are on. Trouble code P2238 was found and the problem was a faulty O2 sensor. I replace the O2 sensor clear the codes but the when I start to drive the truck the VSC Trac and Trac lights come back on. Does anyone know how to fix this please?-
ANSWER:
You need to replace your Air fuel ration sensor. This is the sensor in front of the catalytic converter ( closest to the engine). I would definitely recommend buying a factory part, I have seen a few problems with aftermarket sensors. Cost about 0 just for part…

QUESTION:
My ABS light and TRAC OFF lights began lighting up yesterday. What’s wrong and what’s the cost?
The lights come on after driving about five miles. I read this could be the sensor. I have low squealing sound coming from my right front tire. Could this be where the problem is? How much will this repair cost me?-
ANSWER:
ABS light on means that your Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is not working properly. You can still use the brakes just fine, you just dont have the additional protection of anti-lock. This is not an emergency but you should have it looked at soon.
TRAC OFF means your vehicles automatic traction control system is not working, Again, you can still drive fine, you just dont have the additional protection of traction control during extreme manuevers. This is not an emergency, have it looked at when convienant.
I bet that the problem lies in a wheel speed sensor. These sensors are located on each wheel and determine how fast it is rotating. Your vehicle’s computer compares all the wheel speeds to see if they are always equal. If the wheel speeds are not right, the vehicle will engage the ABS system or the traction control as neccesary.
In a nutshell, these two systems help the driver maintain control of the vehicle more easily during emergency stops or emergency manuevers. You can still drive with both systems disabled, but you will not have their help if you get into trouble and may make you less able to avoid an accident.
Check the wheel speed sensors, I bet one or more have gone bad, a shop should be able to replace one for 0 or less, if you are mechanically inclined you can do it y0urself for the price of the sensor (- depending on car make and model)

QUESTION:
I have a 2004 cavalier. The trac off light comes on for a couple of days then goes out. What is the problem?
It happen spuraticly. The low trac light still comes on when the drive tires spin or on hard braking. Now the check engine light is coming on. Could this be related? Check engine code is a P0172, system to rich bank 1. I would not think that code would be related to trac off light. Is there a switch attached to the park brake release that may need adjusting?-
ANSWER:
Sounds like you have a faulty wheel speed sensor or connection. Not sure with the code, but I would clear it and see if it comes on again. If it does, you need to do a complete computer diagnosis.

QUESTION:
what could be problem with trac lighting??
have traclighting in kitchen, 2 separate circuits, with L shaped connector. Worked fine since up over 3 yrs, had to repair part of ceiling, take down 1 section of trac. When put back, some lites dim, others nothing, switched light(are 2 on 1 circuit, 3 on other), then wqorked until put back connector??? After 4x finally got to work, but lat n ight, all just came on dim again. ANY REAL ideas on why this would happen, what solution???? Please only from those who really know !!!-
ANSWER:
Lots of possibilities there. Since you only removed one section of trac I would lean towards your L-connector being pluged back in wrong. Did you remove all heads when you took the trac down. Maybe they were put back in the wrong slot. 2-circuit trac has 2 slots on the inside. Are they line voltage or low voltage? If low voltage then maybe you overloaded one circuit and the transformer or even the control switch. A quality electrician should be able to determine the real cause of this problem. Hope this helps some. If not, add some more info to the question and ask again. We’re here for you

Polished Brass Track Lighting
Choose Your Lighting Options Online
There are all sorts of options available to you when it comes to lighting your home. From ceiling lights and wall sconces, to table and floor lamps and chandeliers, you are really spoilt for choice. The solution to good home lighting is a combination of lights bright enough so you can do everything you need without straining your eyes, but also soft enough to create a relaxing ambience.
Use a mix of ceiling and wall lights to get the effect you want. Ceiling lights are the most important light fixture in any room and come in many different varieties. Elegant, modern recessed lights, flush and semi flush ceiling lights and pendant lights – which you choose will depend on the look you want to achieve and factors such as the height of your ceiling.
Pendant lighting is the most commonly used for ceiling lights in homes, they cast direct light or diffuse light and as they hang from the ceiling you need to ensure your ceilings are high enough. Buy contemporary pendant lights in classic white glass, stylish satin silver finishes with clear glass, bowl metal pendants in gloss black and brushed aluminium, clear, white, opal and black glass – you can practically find any style and design you wish online.
For traditional designs then check out the Fisherman Pendant Light in satin silver and antique brass complete with seeded glass, and the American Diner finished in antique brass with clear ribbed translucent glass diffuser. Or the Dulverton Lantern, a traditional lantern in antique brass finish or polished brass, and the Linear Pendant light, a satin silver chain suspension pendant with a modern twist centre and frosted dome glass diffuser, also available in antique brass.
Track lights can be moved around so if you want to change the focus or place attention on another area of the room then these are ideal. They allow you to have light where it is needed the most and are a flexible option. You can also use them to highlight a particular piece of art or other focal point.
Flush ceiling lights are ideal for low ceilings as they leave no space between the ceiling and the fixture’s diffuser. Enormously popular they come in an assortment of finishes including polished brass, satin steel, satin brass and elegant white, you can also use more than one to produce a creative pattern on a high ceiling. Semi flush lighting fixtures protrude slightly and generate a soft indirect light which is reflected off the ceiling. They’re a great alternative for high ceilings.
Wall http://www.search.about.com/fullsearch.htm?terms=home%20lighting&SUName=search : sconces can bring extra light to the darker areas in your home, use them to light up your hallways and entrance areas and stairwell for safety, a brighter look and as an attractive feature. Sconces aren’t the only option these days for wall lights, there are various lighting fixtures that can do the job just as effectively in a range of modern, contemporary and traditional styles. Check out the contemporary range available in frosted or white glass and stainless steel finishes. Or go for the modern halogen spotlight effect in clear glass, antique chrome and polished brass.
A wall wash fixture directs light onto the wall, a popular type is a general downlight that incorporates a reflector and a fixed scoop or eyelid that directs light toward the wall. Picture lights are a great way to draw attention to your paintings and other artwork, chrome, black or brass finishes, oblong shapes and adjustable ball joint head.

Decorative Lighting Fixtures
Five Things to Remember About Parking Lot Lighting
By following a few basic principles of parking lot lights recommended by RLLD Commercial Lighting, you can quickly determine what your client will need and choose fixtures from any number of US light fixture manufacturers. The following points are a few things to keep in mind that will make the process easier for both you and your clients.
#1-As a general rule, it is best to use American made parking lot lighting fixtures for garages and lots.
The quality controls mandated by multiple layers of government, and the warranties that major US manufacturers back their products up with, are unsurpassed in most of the world. Using American made parking lot lights also offers your client the best engineering, maintenance, and replacement options available on a domestic and local level. It helps ensure that parts can be maintained and expeditiously replaced if something does go wrong, because we are dealing with domestic entities who can deliver parts in a timely manner without the complications of overseas shipping.
#2-Most cities mandate that parking lot lighting be evenly distributed at 3-4 foot candles throughout the lot.
Many businesses might not be aware that their parking lot lighting levels have fallen below minimum levels. This happens when lamps deteriorate over an extended period of time. When this happens, lighting levels become uneven and pockets of shadow form. Adjacent areas of brightness distort perspective, and drivers find it difficult to accurately judge distances. Pockets of shadow form when foot candles drop below acceptable levels and become dangerous potential hiding places for vandals and assailants.
If you have found that your client’s parking lights are not generating the required level of lighting, or determine that illumination is being unevenly distributed throughout the facility, the first step in correcting the problem is to have a photometric analysis conducted on the facility. This will chart where foot candle levels need to be improved to overcome problem areas of shadow, and it greatly help in choosing fixtures that provide optimal directional placement of lighting into parking areas where obstructions are present or where the facility features and irregular design.
#3- Parking lights may need to be replaced to prevent your client from violating dark sky laws.
The dark sky movement has gained global momentum and shows no signs of slowing down. Dark sky laws have been passed in most major cities. These regulations have precipitated changes in a number of luminaire types, and parking light fixtures are among those most significantly impacted by this legislation. New luminaires favor semi-cutoff or full cutoff designs that direct the light downward into a predictable foot candle plot. Fixtures also feature advanced reflectors and optics that diffuse intense light into a more even spread of photons. This prevents light from spilling out of the parking area into adjacent streets and buildings, and it also works to reduce glare that was common in more primitive fixture designs that relied upon high levels of light as opposed to precision placement of light.
#4-Parking lot lighting needs to be as energy efficient as possible without sacrificing the quality of light.
The most obvious for this is reducing your clients’ power bills as much as possible. While the cost of a parking light upgrade may intimate many organizations, technology already exists that can pay for such an investment. LED parking lights can operate on solar batteries or standard low voltage transformers and have already proven themselves to produce better lighting in some cases than other parking lot fixtures, as well as lowering costs of operation by 60-80%. Solar lighting poles are an entirely new innovation that requires no electricity from the public energy grid.
#5-Parking lot lighting may require a highly aesthetic element in certain situations.
In some environments, this will matter much more than others. College campuses, public schools, and government buildings should be lit with fixtures that offer a design element that is complimentary to the geometric proportions and architectural style of the adjacent buildings. Retail stores require aesthetic architectural and parking lot lighting to attract customers. The only thing a person may see when they drive by is the parking lot, and decorative lighting fixtures that are professionally designed and finished with attractive colors will often be enough to catch a person’s eye.
Corporate headquarters often look much better and more professional with aesthetic or decorative parking lights in the very front of the building where investors, clients, and visitors are most likely to park. Warehouses and factories require the least amount of decoration, but still require their parking lights to look professional and presentable.

Home Lighting
Trends In Home Lighting. From Necessity To Decorative Accessory.
During the earliest times of recorded history, lighting was considered a practical necessity. In today’s terminology, this is called task lighting. When a particular area of a cave or shed or cabin needed lighting to cook or eat a meal, that’s where the lighting was placed. Little, if any concern was given to the aesthetic appeal of lighting and the concept of decorative lighting wasn’t even born.
With the advent of modern technology and the ability to design and manufacture lighting fixtures in all kinds of styles, sizes and shapes to say nothing of materials used, indoor and outdoor lighting has taken on an additional dimension. Perhaps the best way to describe this dimension is aesthetic or decorating appeal. Homeowners have discovered that the right kind of lighting can transform a humdrum home into a showplace.
Gone are the days when redecorating focused on just picking the right furniture, deciding on the best type of floor covering and what kind of cabinets to install. Lighting fixtures have been added to the mix and the part they play in creating just the right impression cannot be understated.
The goal in selecting the right lighting is to consider the way you want the room to feel when you walk in. Rooms that are places to rest and visit with others need to feel inviting and warm. A den, for example should feel cozy and intimate. Kitchens should have lighting that is functional and makes the preparation of a meal easy. The dining area should have lighting that exudes warmth and comfort. The bedrooms should have understated lighting that leaves the impression of intimacy. Give serious thought to the effect you want to create in a room when considering the lighting that you will be using.
Joe Rey-Barreau, an architect and professor of interior design at the University of Kentucky has identified three major trends in the selection of indoor lighting. He states “…decorative lighting is probably the most important accessory you can buy.” These trends have developed as a result of the wide variety of lighting styles and configurations available in today’s marketplace and can be summarized this way:
• Casual elegance: The creation of warm, relaxed and comfortable environments with casual lighting that is a little more upscale in design.
• Simplified traditional: Remove the excess and simplify. Decorative lighting here may be solid brass, but stripped down and rich with antique patina.
• Soft contemporary: Clean, modern and simple in style. While architectural in design, these fixtures are no longer cold.
A major consideration in selecting lighting fixtures is the basic architectural configuration of the home. Today’s builders are opting for taller and loftier ceilings. The standard in years past was an 8’ ceiling. Architects determined that the 8’ ceiling created a closed-in or somewhat confining impression. Visit most new housing developments today and the models will typically have up to 10’ ceilings in most of the main rooms. Consequently, lighting fixtures have been designed to complement these rooms with tall ceilings.
In the kitchen and dining areas, oak cabinets have traditionally been the standard. The trend has shifted towards deeper and richer wood such as cherry. As a result, the lighting used in these areas needs to be carefully chosen to enhance the wood used in the cabinets by giving them a richer look.
In addition, there has been a trend to return to metal as the primary material used in the construction of lighting fixtures. Copper and brass fixtures are becoming more and more popular replacing plastics and synthetics as primary construction material for lighting fixtures.
The mini-pendant is becoming more popular as is under-cabinet lighting.
Outdoor lighting is one of the hottest lighting trends today. Many more homes are being built with decks and patios which require lighting. The lighting industry has responded by designing weather-resistant and corrosion-resistant fixtures for outdoor use in a variety of styles, sizes and colors. In addition to deck and patio lighting, more modern landscape lighting has become available. Homeowners have begun to realize the immense curb appeal that is created by selecting just the right type of landscape lighting to say nothing of the added security that this type of lighting provides.
Finally, energy efficiency is coming more and more to the forefront as a major concern in the development of lighting fixtures. The fluorescent bulb is rapidly taking the place of the traditional incandescent bulb, which is not only wasteful when it comes to energy but also is developing a reputation for polluting the environment. The fluorescent fixture lasts longer than its incandescent counterpart and so is more economical to use.
The American Lighting Association (ALA) offers some tips that are worth repeating here.
Ten Tips that Will Help You Light Your Home Up Like the Pros
To help you make the most of your decorative lighting, the experts at the American Lighting Association (ALA) offer the following ideas for illuminating your home — no matter what your budget.
Don’t Wait: It is important to plan your lighting even earlier than other decorating ideas because there are frequently decisions that need to be made relative to the location and type of electrical outlet installation during construction. You also need to consider lead-time. “Consumers are surprised when we tell them it may be as long as six weeks to get their decorative fixture,” says Kathy Held, who is a buyer and vice president at South Dade Lighting in Miami, Florida. “We don’t keep every fixture in every finish in the showroom. Consumers need to start earlier and have patience while their fixture is built.”
Take Your Time: Give lighting as much consideration as other decorating decisions like flooring, wall covering, and furniture. Create a master plan of how you want the finished house to look, and work at it over a year or two. For instance, do you want mini-pendants versus recessed lighting over the kitchen island, pinpoint spots versus a wall outlet to illuminate artwork, or a floor outlet for a lamp in your seating area?
Ask the Experts: To make the best decisions, embrace your lighting showroom personnel. Get information from them. “And bring them information,” says Joe Rey-Barreau, educational consultant for the American Lighting Association. “Use your camera. Bring a digital image of the room and what is not working. If you are trying to create a decorative element, bring in swatches of fabric, pillows, and paint chips. Make the fixture the statement to complement the room.”
Quality Counts: No matter what your budget, opt for timeless materials like bronze and glass over their plastic counterparts. Timeless designs in top materials will always look right and can become family heirlooms.
Test It: Try before you buy. In most instances, you can take a lamp home, try it and bring it back if it doesn’t work.
Focus Pocus: Put lighting to work creating focal points. Add lights to direct the eye in a new direction by focusing on a piece of art, furniture or the mantel.
Dim Some: Dimmers are an inexpensive trick-of-the-trade. They help set a special mood in the home by allowing you to manipulate the light. Install them at the wall for ceiling fixtures and even buy them for table lamps.
Space Case: Add more drama to a space with accent lighting. By illuminating the top of a bookcase, adding under-cabinet lighting or hanging a colored pendant over the kitchen island, you can create islands of light that bring the grain of the wood, the print of the wallpaper or the color of a wall to life.
Do Your Homework: “There is a wealth of information on the Internet, particularly the ALA Web site,” says Rey-Barreau. “You should also rely on lighting showroom people as experts — many are interior designers.”

QUESTION:
How much will it cost to install a high quality home lighting system in my home?
I have seen professional home lighting systems in other peoples’ homes that are quite impressive. I know the equipment cannot be expensive since they are mostly lights integrated into the ceiling, but installation must be pricey. How much does the whole thing usually go for?-
ANSWER:
well that depends on what kind of lighting system you are talking about. One extreme would be like a integrated lutron system where the lights can do things like account for the amount of sun light in the room and automatically dime. Or are you talking about just some fancy fixtures that could make the inside of you home look brand new. either way the equipment can be pricey, I did custom lighting design. Many of the things that i have designed you can find in a IKEA catalog but i have done a few ,000 chandeliers. So with that been said the equipment all depends on what you want. now the electrician on the other hand is a little more strait forward, they will charge about 0 per hour. If you are talking about one of those fancy systems that could be up to 40 hours. Simply changing out some light fixtures will be about half a hour each. I know that this wasn’t that definite answer that you where looking for but I hope I helped get you started.

QUESTION:
What are recommendations for Automating Home Lighting in an as-built home?
I have looked at Insteon, X-10 and HAI products, but would like to know if any can be installed in a home where the lighting is all pre-wired in the cieling (recessed lights)What I have is several rooms where my builder wired up to 10 wall/cieling lights to one switch. I would like to separate some of them and put dimmers on others. Is it possible to use the Insteon type relays to automate individual lights?
-
ANSWER:
We use X10 in our house. What you want is several in-line modules that you put in the ceiling between the light fixture and the wiring. You’d need one for each fixture. We have one in our kitchen. They work best where you can leave the basic wall switch intact and leave it on all the time, controlling the various lights in the room with a wireless wall switch or switches. (We have also found that they are not as reliable if you replace the original wall switch with a dimming switch or an X10 switch. Something to do with the interrupted circuit, I think.) Anyway, once you have the modules in place, you can get the wireless wall switches that include a dimming switch which will dim the last light turned on. (We also have this in our kitchen and are able to dim the pendant lights over our island counter top).

QUESTION:
Can I Use my Computer UPS as Inverter UPS for my Home lighting, By connecting to a car battery?
I have a 600 VA computer UPS which has internal 12V 7.5Ah Dry Battery. I wish to remove that battery and connect a car battery (88Ah). Will it work for home lighting? i dont bother about backup time. I just want will it work or not?-
ANSWER:
Yes it will work.
Only caveat is you have to be careful not to under/overcharge the car battery. UPS has a built-in charger delivering about 1-2 Amps so if your battery is fully discharged, it will take forever to recharge. You might need external charger with higher current capacity. On the other hand, you will need to be careful not to spill acid all the time. Good luck.

8 Ft Track Lighting
Intermodal Container
Description
Stacking shipping containers each with a standard ISO 6346 reporting mark
A typical container has doors fitted at one end, and is constructed of corrugated weathering steel. Containers were originally 8feet (2,438mm) wide by 8feet (2,438mm) high, and either a nominal 20feet (6,096mm) or 40feet (12,192mm) long. They could be stacked up to seven units high.
Taller units have been introduced, including ‘hi-cube’ or ‘high-cube’ units at 9feet 6inches (2,896mm) and 10feet 6inches (3,200mm) high.[citation needed]
The United States often uses longer units at 48ft (14.63m) and 53ft (16.15m). Some rare European containers are often about 2 inches wider at 2.5m (8ft2.4in) to accommodate Euro-pallets. Australian RACE containers are also slightly wider to accommodate Australia Standard Pallets.
Lighter swap body units use the same mounting fixings as Intermodal containers, but have folding legs under their frame so that they can be moved between trucks without using a crane.
Each container is allocated a standardized ISO 6346 reporting mark (ownership code), four characters long ending in either U, J or Z, followed by six numbers and a check digit.
Container capacity is often expressed in twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU, or sometimes teu). An equivalent unit is a measure of containerized cargo capacity equal to one standard 20 ft (length) 8 ft (width) container. As this is an approximate measure, the height of the box is not considered; for example, the 9ft6in (2.90m) high cube and the 4-foot-3-inch (1.30m) half height 20-foot (6.10m) containers are also called one TEU. Similarly, the 45ft (13.72m) containers are also commonly designated as two TEU, although they are 45 and not 40feet (12.19m) long. Two TEU are equivalent to one forty-foot equivalent unit (FEU).
Types
A Spine Car with a 20 ft tank container and a conventional 20 ft container
Variations on the standard container exist for use with different cargoes including Refrigerated container units for perishable goods, tanks in a frame for bulk liquids, open top units for top loading and collapsable versions. Containerised coal carriers, and ‘bin-liners’ (containers designed for the efficient road/rail transportation of rubbish from cities to recycling and dump sites) are used in Europe.
Container types:
Collapsible ISO

QUESTION:
Suggestions for lighting in 8 ft ceiling room with beams?
We have a room in our house that has standard ceiling height – maybe 7-8 feet, with exposed beams (2 of them) running the width of the room. Currently this room serves as a pass through / office. Previous owners had it as a dining room, so currently there is a chandelier hanging between the two beams, which we have to duck under to walk past. We actually pinned it up so we don’t have to duck as much.Any suggestions for lighting? We considered track lighting or sconces, but don’t want it to mean too much work involved (ideally would like to switch out the chandelier with another fixture), but not sure what to look for.
The tricky thing is that the light that the chandelier gives off is perfect because it is lower than the beams, so they don’t get in the way, but this room is not fit for a chandelier.
Any ideas?

ANSWER:
I would probably install recessed lighting between the beams, that way they would be no lower than the beams its self. It could be made to look as if it belonged there with proper trim.

QUESTION:
Overhead Halogens too harsh!?
We just installed track lighting around our office. Each track has three 50W halogen lights in them. They hang at about 8 ft.They are blinding us! The light is so bright that people are miserable and complaining. We point them away from us, but if even a corner of a bulb catches your eye, you’re blinded and stumbling into things. The color seems unnaturally white too.
We aren’t sure how to solve this. Will a lower wattage bulb solve the dazzle-problem? Any recommendations? Are there bulbs with a frosted front to diffuse the light? (I couldn’t find any).
can we make diffusers ourselves? Could we get warmer colored bulbs? Put up Gels?-
ANSWER:
Get rid of the darn things! It’s costing the company money and is now a liability.

QUESTION:
19, BMI of 32, 6 ft 1 inches 244 pounds, need help?
i know i need to lose weight, i don’t really have any muscle on me (except for my legs which comically have to be strong enough to lift the rest of me)here is my plan.
i won’t always be able to get to do cardio, or sometimes even get to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. i figure i will get as much in as possible and build muscle the rest of the time, my reasoning is two fold. building muscle will help me achieve a better workout when i DO run or stair climb or whatever, and it will also stoke my metabolic rate (i have been losing weight even outside of the gym so far by changing my eating habits, i now eat WAY healthier and a lot less)
so here is the situation
i have been at it since September, i was 260 then and i have lapsed a lot in November on my routine (most of the weight loss was in October)
i want to get back into it, but my geography presents problems. i currently live in thunder bay, and it’s starting to get *very* cold (it’s chilly now, it’ll DROP soon) and I’m worried about walking 15 min to the gym, getting soaked and walking 15 min back in 40 below weather.
on the other hand, i don’t really know all that much about working out at home.
so far i have been looking into push ups as my main workout as they work the arms, back, and core. problem is my lower abdominal muscles won’t have any of it, first time I tried they strained and left me feeling sore for a couple of days
I can’t make crunches, and i don’t know if I’ll be able to do reverse crunches until my abs stop hurting, so far i have been supplementing it with kneeling side bridges (2 sets of 8 –holding for 30 seconds each rep– for each side)
i want to know if I’m on the right track, if there are any other light ab workouts that i could try(and any good way of stretching them before hand >.<), and any cardio exercises that i could try (preferably ones that DON'T make me look like a lunatic)

ANSWER:
Have you heard of Stemulite? It is all natural way to help increase efforts from workouts, without any of the ill wanted side effects, and it helps you sleep deeply as well. You need to eat five to six mini meals a day.
Only whole wheat items, with lean meats, and a veggie. (In one meal)
Example: I make my own whole wheat waffles and pancakes, add a few berries with sugar free syrup, and eat two eggs, and you should be good.
Snack: Cottage cheese with mandarin oranges and slivers of almond
Lunch: Chicken Salad with whole wheat bread, muffin, or pita
Snack: Smoothie with berries, whey protein, and soy milk
Dinner: Black Bean sauce with salmon, small salad, and wheat roll
Nix all processed sugar and all processed white flour products.
Cook with no fat butter spray or olive oil (sparingly).
Each meal needs to be balanced with proportions from each group the size of your fist when closed. This is alot of work to do, but the results are worth it.
Strength training 3 X a week, and alternate with 3 days of cardio, and then take on free day.
Buy some free weights, not equipment type machines, and get a mirror that you can watch your form. Watch some videos on how to “lift properly”, and then mimic that in the mirror. You can increase strength and tone with isometric type exercises, but to *add muscle* you need to lift weights, get sore, and then recover, to lift weights until you see results you are happy with.
Stemulite will help you get an edge in gaining muscle naturally, as well.
Go here and download the free report http://powerofstemulite.com and it will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!

Marine Lighting Fixtures
40 Inch Stained Glass Lighting Feature US Marine Corps Review
This is probably the most sentimental thing we have ever purchased in our entire lives. My husband and I watched as our son was called to war nearly three years ago after joining the Marines. It was a bittersweet moment considering we were watching Jonathan succeed in everything he wanted and at the same time, we were seeing our young boy grow into a man. Fortunately, we all like to keep things fun and delightful, so we started buying up all the Marine apparel and Discount Lighting Fixtures we could for our Poker Room.
The very first thing we purchased was a 40 Inch Stained Glass Lighting Feature US Marine Corps style. This Halo Lighting Fixture has a three-foot hanging chain that features an on/off switch for convenient use. In addition, it’s a three-bulb model that gives you a higher lighting dimension so everything is bright as possible over the table. While all this is great and there is much more to it, there was one thing above else that made this our best purchase ever.
Our personal selling point was the fact you could take this 40-Inch Stained Glass Lighting Feature US Marine Corps built with sturdiness, and turn it into honor. See, it can be personalized to say whatever it is you want it to say. So we wanted to put something on it that would let everyone know how proud we were of our son, yet still being able to understand what he had gotten himself into when deciding to join.
In 1945 as World War II victory was in sight and the world as a whole would begin to change, Eleanor Roosevelt was stated as saying, “The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!” No one could have said it better, so we made sure it was on this 40 Inch Stained Glass Lighting Feature US Marine Corps.
Being able to do this was probably the best part of purchasing the 40-Inch Stained Glass Lighting Feature US Marine Corps. Then again, there were several other benefits that left all of guests complimenting its nature and sentimental appeal as we had nights full of conversations. Many of the people who join us in a poker game or two a month also have men, women, and children in the Marines.
When it came down to it, this Lighting Fixture became an instant tool for memories that weren’t only about our children’s time in the military, but also watching them grow up. While we understand the cost of war and having it in the back of our heads every day, it’s never something you ever get used to hearing. However, this is our way of dealing with the situation and praying our son and all the troops in war as a whole come home safe.
We’re sure many people have stories about this particular Lighting Fixture if they have experienced the same things we have during these times. Hopefully, it will help you trigger as many good memories about your loved ones as it has us over the years.

QUESTION:
Marine tank lighting?
We have a 55 gallon marine tank that we are slowly adding to. Right now we have some live rock, a clown trigger, two clowns (one with bubble anemone), a coral beauty and a couple damsels. We are currently using two 36 inch actinic bulbs, a 20,000k deep blue ocean Corallife bulb and a 10,000k Corallife..all in typical tank hood light fixtures. We have perfect water conditions but also seem to be getting a decent amount of hair algae. For filtration we are running a Fluval 305 w/powerhead and an Emperor waterfall as well as a protein skimmer and u/v sterilizer and an extra powerhead for bottom circulation. We have never lost a fish.. even our original damsels are thriving 2 years later. I’m just wondering if we should upgrade our lighting before we consider adding more inverts but I’d prefer not to spend hundreds if possible. Suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance
-
ANSWER:
Have you had your current lighting running for the two years? If so, that’s most likely one of your causes. Even though the tubes aren’t burnt out, the wavelengths necessary for photosynthesis (this would include corals, anemones, clams as well as plants) start to deteriorate after 6 months. As the wavelengths shift, they favor nuisance algae more than macroalgaes, coralline algae, or vascular plants. You should plan on changing these out every year at the minimum.Apart from that, it would have helped if you posted your actual values for the water testing. Nitrate (end product of the nitrogen cycle) is a plant and algae fertilizer, so this should be kept below 30ppm for fish, and as low as possible (definitely below 20ppm) for a reef tank. If you’re using tapwater to mix your salt, this can be a source of nitrate as well as phosphate, another plant and algae fertilizer. Adding a phosphate absorbing pad can remove the phosphate which should cut back on the algae, or you might want to switch to reverse osmosis water which uses a special filtration process to remove nitrates, phoshpates, and other elements.

QUESTION:
Lighting Fixture in Aquarium(Marine T-5)?http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+12772&pcatid=12772
Does this have to be on the little stands, or can it just sit on the top of the SW aquarium. I have like these glass guards ontop to keep it on top.
-
ANSWER:
I would use the legs that come with the fixture, to help prevent salt creep from damaging the light. Even if you use glass canopies, evaporated salt always seems to find a way on top of them. The legs are good for ventilation as well, because the bulbs will produce heat. I would also note that the glass tops will diffuse some of the light, so the fixture will lose some of its intensity going through the glass.

DIY nano marine tank lighting?
does anyone have any DIY lighting fixture plans that would fit a 3 gallon nano tank!?!?-
ANSWER:

QUESTION:
Marine aquarium lighting?
I have recently purchased an entire 125g marine set up. I don’t know the age of the lights (t-8′s i beleive) but would like to completely replace them since I got the set up extremely cheap. What are moon lights and actinics, and are they needed? I do want to get into corals with this tank down the road. Do I need the lights to go the full 72″ over the top? or will 48″ fixtures work? Any manufactures i should stay away from? Lights will be mounted to the inside of my canopy. Looking for any suggestions, links, or advise from personal experience. Thanks for any info you can provide!-
ANSWER:
u dont really need a 72in fixture but it would look stupid with lights only over one side. u dont need moon lights or actinics but they look cool, the actinics may help the fish from stressing out at sun up and sun down though. i wouldnt buy from a petsmart or chain like that. definantly not ebay either unless ur sure ur getting a trusted brand. i would trust anything from liveaquaria.com

Under Cabinet Track Lighting
Fluorescent Light Is Still A Popular Choice For The Kitchen Under Cabinet Lighting
If you consider the Led lighting for the most important stylization of your kitchen interior, the maximum focus that needs to be put up at the under cabinet region. Led lights are generally implied by its name with the lighting style at the under cabinet zone to get the most effective illumination for a comfortable performance there over the counter top. But you may think about some other kinds of lighting like incandescent, xenon, fluorescent for that of under cabinet lighting.
One very good and excellent choice of lighting that is recently used is the under cabinet puck lighting. This is one type of track lighting. The puck lights are of very small in size and the lights can be directed upon a specific object or item of interest. Another type of popular lighting used for the creation of accent at the cabinet area is strip lighting, those are made of modern LED technology and these lights are very easy to install there on such places where people normally use the incandescent and fluorescent lights. The strip lights are now designed very innovatively and there are several positive and favorable facts those made these lights the most popular in the lighting designing world.
The best option for the under cabinet lights so far I have found is the fluorescent lights. This lights have some negative factors, though I would like to prefer these lights mostly for the middle earning people. Fluorescent lights do not produce shadow and always gives a pleasant glow. There are a group of different grades of fluorescent fixtures from which you can choose the right one for your own kitchen. Those are T5, T8 and T12 standards. The word ‘T’ stands for the tubular length and the number refers to the diameter. In between these three the T8 is the most recommended type for getting the best result.

I think you should go with recessed lighting. Then if you have an area such as an island in there, you could add some lower fixtures for extra lighting.

QUESTION:
What do you think of the beginning to my story?
Katherine Hawthorne rolled her eyes.“This is so typical,” she murmured, shivering as cool tendrils of air snaked along her skin. “Here I am, Rio de Janeiro of all places, and the bad guys just have to have a thing for air con.”
Katherine crept forward, muttering curses under her breath. Concealed in the shadows, she darted around a dark corner and pressed herself against the wall, allowing her to survey her surroundings. She was standing at the end of an incredibly long corridor – a walkway of silver and chrome. The dim lighting allowed her to make out a few inconspicuous doors, all placarded with small black numbers.
Glancing at the door to her right, Katherine read, “Three-hundred and fifty-two.” She was on the right track – only seventeen more to go.
With a quick glance over her shoulder, Katherine began to follow the numbers. She paced quietly, careful not to let her shoes squeak on the tiled floor. A thin line of perspiration formed on her forehead, which she quickly wiped away, grimacing.
For weeks she had hoped to be sent to a warm, exotic location – anywhere to escape the bitter Connecticut winter that battered her senses. Admittedly, the academy had paid up nicely – “Rio, Baby!” – and even though Katherine knew she would only be here for a couple of days max, it would still be long enough to thaw the cold out of her bones. And maybe get a little bit of a tan, too.
But no. Whoever ran this place clearly liked to feel as though they were walking around in a big, industrial freezer. Oh, cruel irony. Katherine wouldn’t have been surprised to see big chunks of meat hanging down from hooks in the ceiling.
“Is it too much to ask for a little bit warmth?” Katherine griped, pressing the small button on the side of her watch. The circular face lit up, numbers dancing around the screen. “Eleven minutes to twelve,” she made a quick calculation, “I’ve got about ten minutes before the next security check.”
Picking up the pace, she dashed forward, softly counting down each door number she passed, “Three-hundred and sixty-six…sixty-seven…sixty-eight…ah, sixty-nine!”
Katherine drew to a stop. Wasting no time, she flicked open the panel near the door handle to reveal a small alarm pad. She studied it for a second before her lips broke out in a smile, “Nothing to it.” In just a few seconds, a satisfactory click emitted from the lock and the door swung forward on its hinges.
“Bad guys – you’d think they’d have the sense to invest in better security systems…” Katherine stepped forward and closed the door behind her, immediately encased in a blanket of gloom. “…And lighting, they definitely need better lighting.”
Katherine fished a small torch out of her pocket and flicked it on; the small golden beam illuminated row after row of filing cabinets that seemed to stretch indefinitely into the darkness.
“Well, this mission just got a little more complex…” Katherine bit down on her lip, momentarily overwhelmed, but quickly shook the emotion off. She was a level four agent, after all – this mission was relatively easy in comparison to some of the things she got up to.
Finding a file? Katherine thought. Oh, please. Try abseiling down a three hundred foot building with a makeshift descender (whilst being shot at from all angles, I might add) and trying to make off with the latest evil gadget that – once again – threatened all of humanity. Now that was pressure! And yes: it was a lot harder than I made it seem. And yes: it was the best spring break ever.
In an attempt to gear herself up, Katherine drew on her memory and recalled the file she had been told to find in debriefing; “File ‘GWf-bioT’, here I come.”

ANSWER:
I quite like this chapter – I would be curious as to how it goes on!However: I wouldn’t have so much speaking; she’s trying to be stealthy, there’s no-one else there, and all the things she says could very well be expressed as thoughts.
Also, in the second paragraph before the end, you’re mixing up first person (I) and third person (she).
Otherwise, I like it!

ANSWER:
This is what I think:You’ve created a character with life. It’s a pity their was no-one to interact with in the scene, so I could see how you portray other characters. You gave the character likes and dislikes and gave her an objective in her life. Your writing wasn’t bad. It flowed and made sense and I could follow the plot.
This is my criticism: (please don’t take offense)
“shivering as cool tendrils of air snaked along her skin” I don’t like this. It made me think of snake creatures in the air and tentacles and all sorts of things. Rather keep it simple when explaining things like temperature and other arbitrary things.
Too much movement detail. I felt like you were going to take me up hundreds of flights of stairs and press buttons and find files etc. Those parts were boring. Get to the point, without leaving out crucial detail.
Cliche: I think teen agent has been done before. Just a thought: “Agent Cody Banks”, “Kim Possible”, “If looks could kill”, etc
Character talking to herself?: Is Katherine Hawthorne blurting out random comments, is she thinking random comments while doing a “super” agent mission. Imagine this. During one of her thought dialogues, a ‘bad’ guy shoots her in the head. That would not make a good plot.
This ‘bad’ guy’s secret base doesn’t seem very challenging. Where are the ‘bad’ guys for that matter. Maybe its a trap, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself.
Please make it more interesting, add suspense, fear, seriousness. I don’t know. It seemed lacking in some real action or intrigue.
That’s my advice
Good luck with your writing

ANSWER:
You can definitely write, so I applaud you for that. However, too much description and minuscule details get in the way. You don’t have to do so much to describe the scene/setting…just tell the story. We don’t have to know what EVERYTHING looked like, sounded like, felt like…to imagine we’re there. That’s part of the fun of reading…using our own imagination in the world you’re presenting to us. Limit some of that, is my only critique. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Black light bulbs for track lighting? Confused!?
I have a set of track lighting in my apartment and I was thinking it may look neat to have blacklights in them for Halloween! But I don’t want anything bad to happen, like a fire during my party. The track lighting came with Bulbrite Flood 65W, 130V bulbs in them.
So I’m a little confused, do I look for something with the same wattage? Do I need a flood light still or will any bulb work? Please help me out! Thank you!
I have a set of track lighting that has Bulbrite Flood 65W, 130V lights

ANSWER:
google black lights to see whats aval. i don’t think you will find them to fit. the only ones that really work are long tube type anyway. i have some of those standard screw base ones and they don’t really work. It would be fun. but if you full effect just get a real one and hang it up temporarily. and have fun. PS dont for get the strobe light to go with it. Or just the strobe is fun too.

QUESTION:
Track Lighting Wiring Question: Fixture has black/white – ceiling has black/white/red/ground?
I recently bought a track lighting unit and have tried to replace the flourescent light box in my kitchen. The ceiling electrical box has wires for red, black, white, and a ground copper wire, but my new fixture only has the black and white. After reading countless posts on similar configurations, I wired white to white and black to red (assuming it was hot because it was used with last fixture). I left black alone and copper alone. Should I’ve done something differently (with ground specifically) because after reswitching at the breaker, nothing is powering with the unit? I should mention that unit (from Ikea) has cord that reaches out and sends current through metal track. If anyone is familiar with this set up, input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Shane-
ANSWER:
You should attach white to white, black to red and black, and ground to the ceiling electrical box screw.

QUESTION:
How does one wire a three post (black, white, and red wire) track light, with only a black and white wire?
Only a black and white wire coming from the breaker box…-
ANSWER:
I don’t think you have a 220 volt track light. The track most likely gives you the option to use two switches depending on which way you snap the fixture base in. You can either cap the red wire and turn the fixture one direction or like the cheese person said splice the red and black together then connect them to the black feed and white to white. Remember electricity does not see colors and you never know what the person before you did. I strongly recommend calling a licensed electrician. It’s not worth getting hurt over.

QUESTION:

QUESTION:
Track lighting problems!! Help!!?
Here is the situation..I removed a fluorescent light fixture from my ceiling. The white wire and the black wire had been extended by a cap to make the fixture work. The fixture was not grounded and was only attached to the two wires.
I am now installing track lighting.
I look in the ceiling box and I see:
2 white wires that were capped in with the white extention wire
1 black wire that was extended
2 bluish colored wires that are capped to eachotherI removed the white and the black extention so I now have the following in the box:
2 white wires capped to eachother.
2 bluish wires capped to eachother.
1 black wireMy track lighting has a white, black and green wire.
I attached the white wire to the two white wires that are capped together.
I attached the black wire to the single black wire.
I attached my ground green wire to the two capped bluish wires.
I assemble the rest of the lighting and turn back on the power and…
I break my circuit breaker.
I checked my connections and all points of the lighting. Nothing seems to be wrong but my wiring.
My questions…
Am I wired correctly?
Anyone have a reason as to why I would have spliced neutral and ground wires?
Am I fair to assume that the bluish wires are my ground?
Why do I keep blowing my breaker?
Do I need to ground my track lighting?
What consequences do I have if I do not ground?
and finally…
How do i fix it?!?!?
Heh.. I know it is a lot of questions to ask…
I would appreciate any help.
-
ANSWER:
The blue wires are more than likely the feed for the light passing through the box.Just leave the two blue wires tied together and your problem should be fixed.

QUESTION:
motion detector for path lighting?
I have a 110′ sidewalk installed. I left 11 loops of 14-2WG exposed at 10′ intervals above existing grade. This line voltage being energized at 1 end. I intend to make my own bollard path lights from a composite Latitudes 4″ x 4″ post sleeve and a decor glass post cap. The interior of these sleeves will incorporate a 75 watt incandescent bulb. The post sleeves will be cut for a Soft vent Panel on one side, thus emitting the light. My question being is there a mini motion detector manufactured that could be installed in each bollard controlling each light as you progress up / down the walk. A standard motion detector would look offensive. The situation would be easy, had I pulled 14-3WG. Thus a detector could be installed on both ends of the walk. I really don’t want to incorporate the ground as a double neutral either. I think each light turning on individually as you progress would look great. I am open for any and all suggestions. Thanks-
ANSWER:
I have a motion detector I recently purchased that is fairly small. It’s each.this one is a plug in one, and I think you need one you can wire in. Plus you need one rated for outdoor use. Perhaps something like the second one.
But search around, there are hundreds of different models.
